We, John’s wife and daughters, have set up this fund in John’s memory.

John was born in 1945 in Manchester and, after studying Maths at Cambridge, he met and married Iona in London.  They had two daughters and now have four grandsons. He was a loving and kind husband, father and grandfather and valued friend. His passions for walking, computing and architecture led to many happy memories and making of friends.

Having had a healthy life, he died suddenly from pneumonia on 8 March 2018.  In his last few days he was found to have scarring on his lungs which was pulmonary fibrosis.  His father and Iona’s nephew’s wife also suffered from the same condition. We have therefore chosen the British Lung Foundation for memorial donations.
